Section 8 Rent Calculator

Independent calculator. Not HUD and not a housing authority.

Send a report that can be checked

Use the correction form below to identify a problem with this voucher worksheet. Choose whether it concerns a figure, a rule, a source link, a browser problem or something else. Include the page pathname so the report reaches the correct jurisdiction or guide. A useful report gives the exact source URL, document title, page or table, and effective date. If the issue is arithmetic, describe the expected result and the relevant nonsensitive scenario. An agency payment standard and a HUD reference rent can look similar while serving different purposes; tell us which one the disputed amount represents.

Protect your housing records

Please do not send a Social Security number, voucher number, benefit account credentials, immigration records, a full address or an unredacted income certification. The form is for publication corrections, not an application for assistance. It is not connected to your public housing agency and cannot change its certification, open a waiting list or approve a unit. An optional reply email allows follow-up about the publication issue. Leaving it blank still permits the report to be submitted. If a report needs confidential case review, contact the authority named on your own paperwork through its official channel.

What happens to the form

Submitting the form sends the page, category, message and optional reply address to the site's correction endpoint. The endpoint validates the fields and stores an accepted report in the publisher's correction table. It does not record an IP address or user-agent value in that table. The "Got it" line under the button means the report was stored; it does not mean the proposed change has been accepted. If storage is unavailable, the page keeps the text and tells you to retry. We do not promise a response time, automatic email acknowledgment or a particular outcome. Reports are not published as testimonials or attached to a fabricated reviewer profile.

Questions better directed to the PHA

Ask the administering authority about your applicable bedroom standard, utility allowance, hardship minimum rent, eligibility decision, portability, annual reexamination or lease approval. A county reference row cannot answer those questions. For a reference-data problem, distinguish the county or town record from a ZIP-specific area record and preserve any alternative areas shown by the lookup. For a broken calculation, mention the browser and whether the tool used a known TTP or calculated TTP. These details help reproduce a defect without collecting the personal financial documents that the calculator deliberately keeps outside its service.
